Indiana ERAP Treasury Programs:
The Hamilton County Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) will create housing stability for those affected by COVID-19. The program can provide you with financial assistance to help cover past due rent and/or utility payments.
You may be eligible for ERAP if: You are a renter in Hamilton County, Indiana; You had a loss of income due to COVID-19; or You are not receiving Federal assistance.
Indiana CARES+ Programs:
The Indiana COVID-19 Rental Assistance Program will provide assistance of up to $500 a month for four months and require the landlord’s agreement to participate. Renters in 91 counties are eligible for up to $2,000 in assistance. Assistance can be used for arrears from April 1 on or for future payments.
The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) will re-open its rental assistance portal on October 13, 2020 at 9:00 am Eastern Standard Time (EST). The portal will be used to accept applications for the Emergency Solutions Grant CARES Act (ESG-CV) rental assistance program.
The program can provide you up to 6 months in rental assistance to help cover past due and ongoing monthly rent payments.
The Columbus Board of Works and Public Safety has set aside $200,000 to provide emergency financial assistance to pay rent and utility bills for local residents Initially, the city will attempt to limit expenditures on rental or utility assistance to $125,000. However, an additional $75,000 has been set aside in the event that more assistance is required.
In response to the COVID-19 crisis, funding partners established a cross-sector, community wide COVID-19 Response Fund of the Greater Evansville Region, primarily Gibson, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh and Warrick Counties. Specifically, the Fund will seek to: advance tactics that provide gap support (not duplicated by Federal programs) to those who are asset-limited, income-constrained and may be temporarily unemployed (ALICE); sustain critical operations and levels of service that meet the basic needs of the vulnerable, at-risk, health care workers, and first responders (e.g., food, shelter and childcare); support temporary staffing or volunteer mobilization efforts in response to loss of the volunteer base critical to essential social services; and encourage and champion a movement of neighbors caring for neighbors.

LaPorte County United Way for water bill assistance due to the Covid-19 virus. CSBG CARES ACT funding will be available throughout the year until funding is exhausted.
In December, the City of Muncie and Bridges Community Service partnered to distribute funds for a rent and utility assistance program, funded by the city’s HOME Investment Partnership Grant. There are some qualifiers, including being at or below 80% of the area median income and being behind on rent or utility bills due to COVID-19, whether because of losing a job or getting sick.

Rent and Utility Assistance:Â City of South Bend
The St. Vincent de Paul Society can provide Rent and Utility Assistance to residents of St. Joseph County and the City of South Bend that have been impacted by a COVID-19 job loss or hours reductions. Funds are available on a limited basis and income guidelines apply. Open to residents in South Bend and St. Joseph County.
Residents of the City of South Bend who meet income qualifications may apply for rent assistance that can cover up to three months of rent for those whose income has been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. To apply, call 574-233-8205.
